Continuous Furring

Diamond-Furr ® Furring Strips have a patented design that offers the best solution to the moisture intrusion problems that have plagued the plastering industry for decades. Diamond-Furr's Continuous Insulation (CI) System trims are intended for use on projects complying with the new energy code requirements when 3-coat plaster is specified over continuous rigid insulation.

The 18 gauge Outside Corner Furring Strips (pt# DFOSC-2375) are similar to the standard Diamond-Furr Furring Strips with a longer furring leg bent at a 135 degree angle. The Corner Furring Strips are installed directly over the weather barrier and fastened to the vertical corner framing members using waferhead screws through the provided attachment holes. If a liquid air/water barrier product is applied the Corner Trims can be installed directly to the substrate and results in 100% elimination of the penetrations through the mositure barrier!

The outside corner trim's furring leg protrudes beyond the rigid insulation to give an exact 3/8"  continuous furring and provides superior lath embedment around corners. Lath is secured to the Diamond-Furr trim using 18 gauge tie wire through the 5/16" holes that are provided.

We recommend using Diamond-Furr's Furring Strips with the full line of Diamond-Furr Trims for a complete system and the best available protection against moisture intrusion, minimized thermal bridging, continuous furring, superior lath embedment and significantly reduced exposure to moisture migration responsibility.
