The lath & plaster industry is full of moisture intrusion problems and associated liability resulting from damage. Because building paper has relied upon in an effort to eliminate features in the building envelope. For that reason current building codes require that metal lath must be attached every 6″ inches. This equates to 21 screw holes or 42 staple penetrations in every 10 ft stud length of the WRB.
