The Diamond-Furr ® Furring Strip (Part #: DF-375) are ICC approved – ESR-3232 – and has a patented design that offers the first real solution to the moisture intrusion problems that have plagued the plastering industry for decades. (Field Furring Strips 7/8″)

The 18 gauge DF-375 is designed to be used in a conventional 7/8″ cement plaster system. It is installed over the weather barrier or directly to the substrate when fluid applied air/moisture barriers are used. The strips are lined with a self-sealing PVC membrane and are attached to vertical framing members every 16″ using #8 wafer head screws through the provided attachment holes. Metal lath is then secured to the furring trips using 18 gauge tie wire.

Reduces Cracking & Eliminates Over 55% Of The Fastener Penetrations

The result is a flexible connection which reduces cracking and effectively eliminates over 55% of the fastener penetrations through the moisture barrier (100% elimination when liquid barriers are applied). Diamond-Furr also provides a continuous 3/8″ furring for metal lath which results in superior lath embedment and completely eliminates the potential for tears in the weather barriers due to overtightened screws.

The Diamond-Furr Furring Strips are designed to work as a complete system with the Diamond-Furr Termination Trims which eliminate 100% of the fastener penetrations through the moisture barrier around openings such as doors and windows. Both the Furring Strips and the Termination Trims have also been designed with longer furring legs (CI System Trims) for use on projects that comply with the new energy code requirements specifying 7/8″ cement plaster over continuous rigid insulation.
